Understanding Iraq

I get the feeling most people are confused by the situation in Iraq - what is the fighting about, why do we hear about Iran, is it all just a hopeless internal conflict within Islam?

Well, I just found a great 5-10 minute interactive presentation on MSNBC by Richard Engel. What is great is he gives you the historical and larger political perspective (and this is largely a political conflict).

This also helps explain why you saw big demonstrations in Dearborn SUPPORTING the invasion... the huge majority of the Iraqis (as well as the Lebanese) in Dearborn are Shi'ites. Pray for us as we seek to be God's hands of love to them.
